Brookdale is a Gold National Memory Walk Team in 2010
Brookdale is proud to once again participate as a Gold team member of the 2010 Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk National Team Program. In 2009, Brookdale not only met its fundraising goal of $400,000, but exceeded it. In these tough economic times, it is even more important to support this important organization.
• As many as 5.3 million people in the United States are living with Alzheimer’s disease. • 54% of Americans are touched in some way by this disease. • Alzheimer’s is the seventh-leading cause of death. • Someone in America develops Alzheimer’s disease every 70 seconds. • Alzheimer’s is the second most feared disease in America following cancer.
These are sobering statistics. As the premiere provider of senior living in the United States, we see the impact of this disease on our residents, associates and their families every day. The Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise funds for Alzheimer's research, care and support.
