Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension
The Department of Veterans Affairs provides the Aid and Attendance Pension to eligible wartime veterans and their surviving spouses. This benefit can offset a significant portion of the long term care expenses in a Brookdale community. Depending on your situation, the benefit ranges from $1,056 to $1,949 per month and is tax free. Ask your Brookdale sales associate to introduce you to a provider that will discuss the VA's eligibility criteria with you.

Median Price of New Homes Chart
According to the trend line in the chart below, the median price of a new home today is about the same as it was in mid-2003. Aside from the artificially inflated prices during the housing bubble of 2004-2006, current values are generally consistent with appreciation rates of the previous 45 years.
The graph also shows that those in their homes more than 10 years have significant equity, which could fund their move now to senior and retirement living.
